Hindus Must Unite or Face Extinction by Stephen Knapp

The typical Indian mentality and the path of Hinduism, or the Vedic path of spiritual progress, is one of great individuality and freedom for each person to decide what they want or what is best for their own spiritual development. Thus, it is typical for Hindus to work on their own, not necessarily as a group. There is nothing wrong in that. It is the last of the great cultures that promote the utmost freedom for the individual. But, yet, there is a great need that is not being met, and that is the need for Hindus / Dharmists / Devotees, especially in India, to unite and work together as a group, or even as a whole society, in order to continue to preserve and protect their own culture, traditions, and certainly the freedom of the individual.

This freedom is being threatened in many ways today, although there are those who either refuse to admit it, refuse to see it, or are hesitant to work together to save it. This blindness and hesitancy must be overcome.

Throughout India, for example, there are portions of the population that belong to particular religions, such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, etc., and they often work as a strong section of society to protect their rights, freedoms and traditions. Especially Christians and Muslims vote as a block to promote and vote into office particular politicians they favor, and who favor them. They also will create an uproar when something happens against them, or when someone desecrates their religious texts. They hold demonstrations or even riot when a mosque is threatened. Thus, they get there way, or at least people begin to hesitate before doing something that will make them upset.

However, it seems that the Hindus are the most apathetic in this regard. Though they are increasingly beginning to wake up to the importance of being heard and making themselves be noticed, they are still, for the most part, letting their influence and the power of numbers that they have as the majority of the Indian population simply slip through their fingers.

It is time we learn that apathy is a disservice to Dharma and society. It accomplishes nothing, if that is not obvious. It lets the needs of the Dharmic society go unnoticed. The point is, if we do not take care of ourselves, no one else will. And there are people counting on that apathy to get their way and do things against the well-being of the majority Hindu population. And we are letting them get away with it. This hurts those who follow Vedic Dharma, and takes away the confidence that people need to maintain their practice of the Dharma.

Those who say that Sanatana-dharma is eternal and, thus, there is no need to worry about the future, do a great injustice to the Vedic cause and to humanity. Those who say that Vedic culture has lasted for thousands of years and will continue to last for thousands more show a poor excuse for apathy. Though it is eternal, which is the meaning of Sanatana, this does not mean that it will always remain a prevalent force on the face of the earth. It can also decline into obscurity if we let it.

Those who feel that there is nothing to worry about need to understand why the Bhagavad-gita was spoken. Arjuna did not want to fight, and who does? No one wants war, at least if they are in their right mind. But how many people of particular religions cry for war, or jihad, toward anyone who is not a part of their religion? Arjuna wanted to leave the battlefield and go to the forest to meditate, as if that would solve all of his problems. But Lord Krishna said he was acting foolishly. Lord Krishna told Arjuna that he should indeed fight, but fight for what? He was to fight to uphold the Dharmic principles that the Kauravas were neglecting. Lord Krishna specifically went to the Kauravas to try and arrange a diplomatic means to keep everyone happy and prevent war, but they would not listen. Finally, there was no alternative but to fight. And so the sides were drawn against those who fought for Dharma and those who fought for their own agenda.

We could also say that we should simply let the good Lord take care of everything. If something is meant to be, then the Lord will take care of it. But that is not the result nor the premise of the Bhagavad-gita. Lord Krishna showed that everything may rest on Him as pearls are strung on a thread, but we all must do our part. It is up to us to protect Dharma if we are indeed expecting to continue to have the freedom to practice and follow it.

Vedic culture has been attacked for the last 1200 years. India’s history can easily show that. And it was the heroes of India, and the millions of average everyday people of India, Hindus, who gave their lives and underwent severe torture that kept Vedic Dharma alive for future generations, and for the freedoms that we have today that allow us to continue these traditions. Are we now to let those freedoms die, after so many sacrificed their lives for us, for Vedic Dharma? This would be a great dishonor to their memory and for the cause they fought for. We cannot allow this to happen, but we also need to be aware of the warning signs of what is happening around us.

This is why, with a growing Muslim population in India, and all over the world for that matter, Hinduism in India could be dead in another 100 years. Just by their high birth rate alone Muslims are increasing their presence in India. Thus, one hundred years from now Vedic Dharma may only be practiced in small pockets here and there, such as in various holy places, as long as the majority Muslim population allows it. The fact is that history has shown that Muslims have a very low tolerance for anything that is non-Muslim. You can see this in the ever decreasing non-Muslim population in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Arabia, etc., etc. They have never allowed complete freedom for non-Muslims in any Islamic country, and have passed laws against them and persecuted them and destroyed their temples and monuments, kidnapped and raped their women, and killed thousands of Hindu or Christian men. So, why should we expect India to be an exception? They have already shown what they did in India.

A rising Muslim minority in India does not have to become a majority to begin changing laws in their favor, but simply by being a noisy and disturbing minority they will gain the upper hand. Increasing their political maneuvering will give them political clout and power. And when they do come closer to being a majority, they will certainly increase the persecution of an infidel Hindu population until they are finally extinct.

Over 400,000 Hindu Pandits were chased out of Kashmir, and what was done about it? Take notice of how Assam is becoming the new Kashmir with nearly 80,000 people being displaced, having left their villages due to fear from the incoming and growing Muslims. And now the Muslim political party in Assam is demanding a separate and autonomous region in southern Assam just for Muslims. Is this not the same pattern we have seen time and time again? And is anyone doing anything about it? Is anyone speaking out that another chunk of India is threatened with being lost? In due course, what will be left of India if this keeps happening?

Even now the Muslims of India, though they have a Hindu ancestry, no longer identify themselves as Indians but as members of the house of Islam. Thus, they are only taking care of unfinished business from their previous invasions and war against Hindus. Hindus often do not conduct themselves in a powerful way. And when they do, the Indian media is completely against them. The secular media in India does not mean secular, it means to bend over backward showing preference for the minorities at the expense of the Hindu majority. Thus, secular media in India means to be anti-Hindu. But should that stop Hindus? They cannot afford to be overly considerate of what others think when their own future is at stake.

The next ten to 15 years will be a major turning point and show the deciding factor for the future of Vedic Dharma on the face of the planet, particularly in India. The thing is, even now we practically have more freedom to practice Vedic culture in America than we do in India, in its own homeland. Will America be one of the final strongholds for Vedic Dharma? Will we have to one day export it back to India from America?

Therefore, we have to ask ourselves, will our temples still be here in India in another 40 to 50 years? Or will they gradually disappear because of Christian conversion tactics, Muslim persecution against Hindus, or because corrupt politicians who care little about Vedic culture take over temples to possess and sell their assets for the money? Hindu temples are known for being income producers, for the most part. While the Indian government cares little about possessing churches and mosques because they need funds, they use more money than they bring in. It is the temples that are income producers because of the Hindu majority population that give to them.

Therefore, there is no doubt that Hindus must unite as a society while there is still time to
make a difference.

CHANGES THAT NEED TO TAKE PLACE
The time to act is now. Some of the things Hindus / Dharmists / Devotees need to do include:
1. Hindus must unite and vote as a bank in all elections to oust those who disregard Hinduism and vote in those who do. They must never take an election for granted. They have done so in the past with terrible results.
2. Hindus must get involved in politics in various ways to help direct the actions of the government.
3. India must also change its politicians in order that it as a nation takes a stronger stance against those who try to bring India down, and to take a stronger stance to defend itself militarily. India cannot afford to be a wimp. There is a need for younger leaders who are more aware of how to fulfill the needs of India.
4. Hindus must work to unite all Hindus. They must wake up other Dharmists about the need to take action. This may be a daunting task, but let everyone become involved in the action plans that will make a difference for their future, for their culture, for preserving their tradition, for protecting the rights and freedoms of the individual, and certainly for the well-being of their children. Work for the freedom to continue to construct and manage their own temples without interference from the government.
5. The spiritual leaders and acharyas must reach out to the villagers and people of all classes in order for the people to feel cared for, and that they are a part of and belong to the Dharmic tradition and are welcome in the temples. They should feel that they are not neglected, but that they are wanted and needed in the greater cause for Vedic Dharma.
6. Indian Hindus must take care of their own people, those who are poor, destitute and disadvantaged, or others will. And those others are often quick to try to convince them of the shortcomings of Hinduism, and, thus, through the guise of welfare activities, try to convert the poor into leaving Vedic Dharma and become Christians or something else. It is true that those who convert for material facility are not strong converts because they could just as easily convert back to what they were once their financial status improves. However, if a child is converted and stays in that fold for 10 to 15 years, it is not likely they will ever want to reconvert back to Vedic Dharma after being a Christian for so long. Thus, from that generation forward, that family will likely continue to be non-Dharmists. Children of converted families who remain outside of the Dharmic fold for that length of time will have little impetus to change.
7. All Dharmists must be educated in their own culture, philosophy, and tradition to understand it clearly, and know how to explain it to their children and others. Thus, they can also be convinced of the deep and profound nature of what they already have, and be less likely to ever want to convert to something else.
8. When anything in the media appears to depict Vedic culture in a poor light, or when someone like a politician says something against one of the Vedic Divinities, there must be an immediate outrage or lawsuit established against such a person or incident. If people begin to see that an immediate and strong reaction takes place whenever Vedic Dharma is poorly or inaccurately portrayed, or when someone denigrates the Bhagavad-gita or one of the Vedic texts, they will begin to hesitate or even stop before doing such things in the future.
9. There must be regular programs at temples for the education of all, and book distribution to help spread Vedic spiritual knowledge to everyone far and wide.
10. Everyone should engage in a cultural revolution in which we promote the true understanding of Vedic Dharma. This is one of the best ways to spread the beauty and freedom found in the lofty spiritual knowledge that can attract everyone. Westerners are especially and increasingly being drawn to the beauty of this spiritual path. So, Indians should have no doubt of its potency and work to maintain India as the homeland of a dynamic and thriving Vedic tradition.
11. Dharmists / Hindus must work to do service for their temples and community to take care of everyone and maintain what they have, namely their temples, their right to peacefully observe the Vedic ways, and care for the people who turn toward the Dharmic path.

Such changes can only take place if Hindus unite and stand strong for Dharma and work together. We have to drop the apathy, discard our ego, along with ethnic and class distinctions and join together under one identity and for a primary cause. We must act like Arjuna did after having received the instructions of Lord Krishna to stand and fight for Dharma rather than going off into the forest to get away from everything and meditate, as if that would solve his dislike to do battle against those who had chosen the side of adharma.

If Hindu Dharmists do not do this, and remain as they are, being apathetic and inactive, it is but a prescription for a slow extinction. They may lose it all, certainly the freedom to choose what they want to be. Only we can change the future by being pro-active and united in this way. Then Sanatana-dharma will remain on the face of the earth as a path that we have the freedom to follow. Do we want to see Vedic Dharma as the tradition of the majority population in India in another 100 years, or will it become a thing of the past, like a museum piece? This is what has happened to the Maya, Inca, Egyptian civilizations, and many others. The choice of what happens in the future is ours by how we act and work together now.

Dharma Rakshati Rakshitah. (Dharma protects those who protect it)
        Jai Sri Krishna.

HINDU INDIA THREATENED WITH EXTINCTION

क्या भारत का हिन्दू स्वरुप मिट जाएगा?- -By Satyamitra

“Here you have a huge majority of 850 million people, part of a culture which is thousands of years old. A culture which has proved over the ages its infinite tolerance towards other creeds and religions, giving refuge to all persecuted minorities in the world, whether Parsis, Syrian Christians, Jews, or Tibetans today. Yet Hindu-bashing has become a favorite pastime of the Press, both Indian and Foreign – and when you find someone such as Murli Manohar Joshi who wants to Indianise Indian education, an aspiration which would be found natural in any country, he is run down by his own people. Thus one finds that Hindus are self-depreciating, tend to lack self-confidence and that they never raise their voices in protest against the discrimination which is practiced against them. In short, you have a huge physical majority in moral minority. Is it because they are cowards ?“-FRANCIS CAUTIER

World’s Largest Democracy  INDIA ” is threatened with extinction within a decade .Waziristan is base of Al Qaida and Taliban Terrorists and it is part of Pakistan which was carved out of India by means of Islamic violence and Terror of “Muslim Direct Action Day “in which millions of innocent HINDU men, women and children were butchered by violent Muslim mobs.Even after partition Pakistan attacked India thrice  and twice in form of”Mujahedeen Army ” but was defeated. Pakistan changed strategy and used Terror as a weapon to bring India to its knees and accept all the demands of Pakistani Terrorists.

After partition in 1947, Pakistan cleansed majority of its ethnic minorities(HINDU,SIKHS AND CHRISTIANS) and-became an Islamic Nation. Where as India became a Democracy and allowed 5 %Muslims to stay and gave them full rights. They keep on waging a demographic war and now muslims number 240 million or more than 20 % of India’s population. Earlier they thought of another partition to carve out another muslim country called Kashmir in the top North and

Mugalistan on the east , but now Militant Muslims are emboldened by success of Islamic in Israel (Hamas ) , Lebanon ( Hizbullah ) , AKP ( Turkey ) , Jamat Islami ( Bangladesh ) ,Muttahida Majlis e Amal ( Pakistan ) , Mehmood Ahmedinejad ( Iran ) and other parts of world , They have planned to Islamized India into a World’s Biggest Islamic Country , They have planned it into several steps.

5) Millions of Mosques are inciting Muslims everyday during Muslims Prayers and specially Imam’s Sermon on Friday Prayers are inciting Muslims to riot and terrorise non Muslims. Any event around the world triggers riots in India and muslims are on the streets with all their knives and swords to wage a Jihad . For example Muslims Riots after Danish Cartoons, Gulf War , Rev. Gerry Felwell’s statement ,etc.
6) Vote Power of Muslims :
Muslims vote en masse and all political parties have adopted the policy of MUSLIM appeasment to get power.
7) Daily Terror Attacks:
Muslim Terror Groups have target every institution in India ,That is Homes , Temples , Churches , Monasteries , Schools , Universities , Offices ,Courts , Police stations , Buses , Transport , Trains, planes and also Parliament of India .
Claiming all the benefits and subsidies from Government of India. Although they are 240 million in numbers and in spite of this fact they pose as victimised minorities and take all the benefits at the expense of non Muslim Taxpayers.
9) Educated and Tech Savvy Muslims have used technology and India Cinema Industry Bollywood as a tool to spread their Islamic propaganda .
10) Majority of Criminals, Mafia, Dons, Smugglers ,etc are muslims and they are into extortion from Non Muslim(HINDU)Businessmen by threatening them and kidnap their family member and demand huge ransom money.
11) Militant Muslims have organised themselves into Islamist Organisations and Terror Groups to silence every voice which exposes their nefarious designs and opposes Terrorism.
12) Islamist Organisations are getting billions of Petro Dollars from Oil Rich Muslim Countries for Complete Islamisation of India within next 15 years time.

14) Muslim Men are trapping Non Muslim Girls by hook or crook and  converting them  into Islam.
15) Muslims practice Polygamy and Secular Constitution gives Muslims Right to have four wives.
16) India Government gives millions of Tax Payers money to over 120,000 Muslims Every year to go to Islamic Pilgrimage or Hajj. After that they return more radicalised.
17) Muslims are well organised, armed and radicalised in India and are getting into Militant Islam . Few Palestinian Terrorist Groups like Hamas have branches and Hideouts in Indian Muslim Areas.
18) Muslims starts riots at every minor issue in any corner of World and they loot,Plunder and burn the public property , rape women and after every riot Muslims have more resources and money which they have snatched from non Muslims during riots.
19) Majority of Indians love democracy, freedom and modernity. Most Indians also Support strong ties with USA , UK , Israel and Europe . But due to Political pressure Of 240 million strong Muslim Community and Democratic Compulsions Leaders are forced to take wrong sides in UNO .

Rahul & Priyanka Gandhi and Their Hatred For India - Behind the Facade of Priyanka Gandhi - The Genesis of Tyranny

Keerthi Reddy

IS RAIBARELI  APRIVATE PROPERTY

"Yeh Hamara Kshetra Hai" (This is our area!) thundered the nasal voice from the campaign platform at Rae Bareli. Sound like a mobster declaring his turf? Nope, it was the voice of the 28 year old inheritor of the Gandhi family's branded glamour puss, the Great White Hope for a nation composed of nearly a billion "darkies", the future Empress of India's underprivileged herself, Shrimati Priyanka Vadhra Gandhi. The Indian media has found itself a new goddess to worship. The object of their affection is the product of the union between Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi. This election campaign has revealed that come hell or high water, the Indian press has taken it upon itself to groom and project this 28 year old half Italian, as the future leader of India.

Elaborate mythologies and biographies have already been concocted for future editorials about her. The past months have exposed this little game of the newspapers as every day's headlines were peppered with effusive eulogies in praise of Priyanka. From her choice of Sari on a given day to her "striking" resemblance to Indira, to the number of Jalebis that she consumed at Achhe Lal's shop, every minute boring moment of Priyanka Vadhra's life seems to be the subject of unmitigated interest to her devout Bhakts from the Indian Press. It doesn't seem to make any difference to them that the general public could give two hoots about the color of Priyanka's Saree. So it's pretty clear what the motivations of the press are, to act as the manipulators who are preparing the ground for Priyanka's crowning. Given the utter failure of Sonia Gandhi to project herself as a viable political leader of the Indian masses, the agenda seems to have shifted now to focus on Priyanka the hope of the future for Congress.

Given the fact that someday we may well be faced with the prospect of having to suffer Priyanka Vadhra as a Prime ministerial candidate, it behooves us to investigate further and do a little analysis on what this young woman is truly like starting with her family background.
It's quite apparent that Priyanka is representative of the newest generation of the Gandhi family which has ruled Indian politics for over fifty years. The legacy of the Gandhi family is also unquestionable, beginning with the Socialist nightmares created for India by her great grandfather, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in the 50's, the overwhelming dictatorial powerlust of her grandmother Indira Gandhi and uncle Sanjay Gandhi in the 70's, all the way to the Corrupt greed of her father Rajiv Gandhi in the 80's and subsequently the unbounded ambitions of her Catholic Italian mother Sonia Gandhi during the 90's. Given the mind boggling range of criminal activities practiced by her antecedents, Priyanka sure has a tough act to follow. But she has already proven her family credentials by following the Gandhi family tradition of failing to graduate from college.

The tradition of illiteracy in the Gandhi family dates all the way back to 90 years ago when Jawaharlal Nehru was somehow able to manage an academic degree from an accredited college in London. Since then the members of the list of famous Gandhis from Indira, Feroze, Rajiv, Sanjay, Sonia and Maneka never had the ability to get an academic degree. Priyanka herself dropped out of Delhi University a few years ago. The Indian media however has always maliciously falsified this fact about her qualifications. Press report after press report always casually mentions that "Priyanka graduated from Delhi University a few years ago, following which she taught briefly at a Delhi school for children with spastic paralysis." Priyanka's aunt Maneka Gandhi has directly contradicted this falsification by stating on record that not a single member of the Gandhi family (including Priyanka) has been able to get a degree in the past 90 years.

Considering the immensely wealthy empire that the Gandhi empire has built via all sorts of fraudulent schemes which have robbed India of billions, it is only natural that Priyanka has grown up with despotic tendencies. She was a pampered, spoilt brat who received any thing that her heart desired and created the impression early in her psyche , that the being a Gandhi is somehow "superior" to being just any ordinary mortal. This tendencies were coupled with her mother Sonia's bigoted sense of superiority over Indians. It is a fact that Sonia Gandhi maintained her closest friendships with only "White" Europeans who were present in India for the sake of business or on diplomatic missions. Another fact that distinctly influenced Priyanka is the fact that Sonia Maino always has been and still is an exceedingly devout Roman Catholic.
Priyanka's father Rajiv had to convert to Catholicism himself in order to marry Sonia. This is because Sonia is a baptized Catholic and the Catholic Church would not solemnize her wedding to Rajiv unless he specifically converted to Christianity. That Priyanka was raised in a strictly Christian setting is apparent from her choice of husband and her voluntary participation in missionary work for the Missionaries of Charity. Priyanka's earliest role models include her imperious grandmother Indira Gandhi, her father Rajiv Gandhi and the most unabashed proselytizer of them all, Mother Teresa. Years ago Rajiv had commented about Priyanka, "She is strong-willed like my mother,". This comparison with a grandmother who treated India as her own personal fiefdom, was to leave a lingering impression on Priyanka. Her physical resemblance to Indira Gandhi as well as similarity of certain mannerisms had her convinced that like Indira, it was somehow Priyanka's destiny to "save" India, through her innate leadership.

By her own admission, Priyanka has said " Ever since I was a little girl Indiraji was a role model. But as I grew up I became more and more influenced by my father. But I have consciously tried not to model myself on anyone. I am me. Priyanka Gandhi." The traces of conceit are already self-evident in her assertive retort that she is a unique individual with power and potency in her own right. In contrast to Priyanka's assertiveness, one of her only two competitor's to the Gandhi mantle, her younger brother Rahul displays an awkwardness and the type of submissive behavior, which does not a leader make. In comparison to Priyanka's strong and colorful demeanor, Rahul looks like an insipid hanger on. Much of his lack of self-esteem can be attributed to the explosive secret that Rahul Gandhi is in fact mentally retarded. His mental handicap has been well hidden by the Gandhi family and the unconscionable press.
Rahul was in fact refused permission to some of Delhi's top institutions because of his mental handicap. A frustrated Gandhi family had then pulled strings at Harvard, where a quota of seats is always available for a price to the rich and famous. Since then Rahul was bundled off to the US and later UK much as his father Rajiv Gandhi had been packed off to Cambridge in the hopes that he would somehow muddle through an academic degree. Rajiv of course never passed a single test at Cambridge and instead of bringing home a degree came back with an equally illiterate Catholic au pair of Italian extraction as his wife. Following in his father's footsteps, Rahul too has come back without a degree to his name, and a fair skinned South American Catholic girlfriend on his arm.

To Priyanka therefore the fact that her brother Rahul hardly counts has competition has further strengthened her self-glorification and firm belief that she is the only legitimate heir to the crown of Congress and India's leadership. Her mother Sonia has encouraged this quality at every step knowing full well that Priyanka possesses the very traits which alienate Sonia from the masses, chief among them being Priyanka's ability to talk fluently in Hindi. Priyanka's qualifications for her trusteeship in the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation are laughingly listed as "her experience as a teacher and educationist". The Foundation is of course nothing but a front for Sonia and kids to siphon off millions of rupees from the Indian taxpayer. They have refused to allow their accounts to be audited for over five years. Another alarming clue to the personality of Priyanka can be ascertained from her mother, Sonia's beliefs. In her book "Rajiv" (which she co wrote with Priyanka) Sonia focuses on the divine right of this family, in its destiny to serve India, to serve it as "sacrificial goats" as she puts it. Sonia believes to the point of superstition that any member of the Gandhi family who enters politics starting with her husband, would be killed. She wrote that Rajiv Gandhi was offered as a sacrificial lamb and that she fought like a tigress but failed from preventing him being served on the altar of the national cause. No doubt Sonia's desire to see herself and her children as martyr's stems from her Catholic beliefs. It is a horrifying thought that Priyanka must have absorbed such perverse self-aggrandizement about her own role as a martyr for the sake of India.

This belief in her destined superiority was reinforced with the recent focus of media attention on Priyanka. she basked in the limelight as the reporters fell over each other in their eagerness to describe the "youth, beauty and fearlessness of her manner". Page upon page was written to attest to her immense popularity with the common public. Paeans of praise were penned about her disarming ability to "reach out and touch the hearts of the poorest" in what can only be termed as the natives' repulsive display of adoration for the white-skinned goddess. Her husband Robert Vadhra and sister in law Michelle, both devout Catholics have jumped on the bandwagon, accompanying her wherever she goes.

Priyanka's wedding itself was one of the biggest exercises in fooling the public. Her husband Robert Vadhra is a baptized devout Catholic, the son of Rajinder and Maureen Vadhra who are both confirmed Catholics. This detail can be attested from the fact that the Delhi archdiocese had made a big ruckus about the fact that Priyanka was not baptized when they sought permission to get married in a Catholic ceremony at the Sacred Heart Cathedral of Delhi. Robert had to produce his Baptism papers and Priyanka had to produce proof of her conversion to Christianity, before they could be married in the Catholic ceremony at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 10.30 am on February 5, 1997. This was hastily followed by a publicity exercise where the already married couple was shown being wedded in "traditional Hindu style" on February 18, 1997 at Sonia's Bungalow on 10 Janpath. The fact that this was a completely superficial and fake ceremony to fool the Indian public into believing the myth that the Gandhi family follows traditional Hindu customs, was given away by the glittering wedding ring on Priyanka's finger. There is no custom of wearing a wedding ring among Hindus.

Robert Vadhra himself is the perfect foil to Priyanka's ambitiousness. He is a chubby, college dropout, usually termed as a "non-descript jewelry exporter from Meerut". The truth however is quite different. Robert is the heir to a family business which has made its fortune through the illicit secret smuggling of rare Hindu and Buddhist Antiques. His family business, Artex (Stands for Art Exports) is famous for its stock of antique brassware and jewelry, the majority of which, unbeknownst to the Indian public has been smuggled from national heritage sites and museum collections. Sonia Gandhi herself is an old hand at the antiques trade, her own house being a testament to this interest. Thousands of rare antiques are smuggled from India, many of them come from the Indira Gandhi Foundation which has a priceless collection of paintings and antique objects of art.

Given her frightening proclivity to emulate her imperious grandmother and the imperious display of authority that Priyanka often indulges in, it is clear that she considers herself the destined heir to the throne of power. Her recent outburst in Rae Bareli against her own uncle Arun Nehru, is proof enough of the fact that Priyanka Gandhi will not let principles or ethical proprieties stand in her naked thirst for power. The vitriolic tone of her speech in Rae Bareli is chilling. In bitter accent, Priyanka exhorted the crowd that

"Mujhe aap se ek shikayat hai. Mere pita ke mantri-mandal mein rehte hue jisne gaddari ki, bhai ki peeth mein chura mara - jawab dijiye - aise aadmi ko aap ne yahan ghusne kaise diya? Unki yahan aane ki himmat kaise hui? (I have a complaint against you (the people). A man who was a traitor in my father's Cabinet, who stabbed him in the back - answer me - how dare you let such a man set foot in this constituency? How dare he have the insolence to come here?"
When she noticed the audience's shocked expression, Priyanka hastily went into her well orchestrated explanation. "Yahan aane se pehle maine apni maa se baat ki thi. Maa ne kaha kisi ki burai mat karna. Magar main jawan hoon, dil ki baat aap se na kahun to kisse kahun? (I spoke to my mother before coming here. She told me not to speak badly of anyone. But I am an adult, and if I cannot say what is in my heart to you, then to whom else can I speak?"
"Mujhe yahan aa kar garv mehsoos ho raha hai. Yeh Indiraji ki karmbhoomi hai. Woh meri daadi hi nehin thi, sari janata ki maa bhi thi. Indiraji ke baad Rae Bareli mein koi vikas nahin hua." (I am filled with pride at coming here. This is the place where Indira Gandhi's did her work. She wasn't just my grandmother but the mother of you all! After Indiraji, no progress has happened in Rae Bareli)

And then at the end, Priyanka's arrogance let loose in an unrestrained rush. "Yeh hamara Kshetra hai!" she shreiked from the ramparts. "This is OUR land", pronounced the self styled future savior of India's ignorant masses, in a bone chilling tone. Just like her great grandfather, her grandmother, her uncle and her mother Priyanka Vadhra Gandhi is at last displaying the true colors behind her facade. And that face is one of utter lust for power, unabashed arrogance and a firm belief in her destiny as the leader of India. To Priyanka Gandhi, Rae Bareli and the rest of India unquestionably BELONG to her. In typical Gandhi family style, she doesn't care about the rights or even the opinions of Indians, she claims suzerainty over India as her birthright. In all of her campaign speeches, she has shown not the slightest inclination to talk about any of the real issues. The subject of her exhortations to the crowd has always been the debt that they owe to her family for having saved them from a fate, that according to Priyanka, was worse death, Priyanka's message to the Indian public is clear, "You owe us and we own you." The other leaders of Congress experience the everyday humiliation of have been sidelined and contemptuously ignored by the new "Madame" in town.

If this is not dynastic rule then what is?? If these are not the clear cut characteristics of a tyrannical despot, then what are? A bemused Atal Bihrai Vajpayee was heard starting his election speech in Rae Bareli with the half jesting comment that he was afraid to step in Rae Bareli as this area belonged to the Gandhis, according to Priyanka. And then in a heartening rejoinder that echoes the outrage of a democratic nation of close to one billion Indians, the prime minister of India said in measured terms," From Kashmir to Kanyakumari India is one country and people are free to move anywhere they liked. Nobody but Nobody (Not even Priyanka Gandhi) can impose restrictions on the coming and going of another person. Such is not the language commonly tolerated in democracies."

It is highly doubtful whether a self styled future tyrant like Mrs. Priyanka Vadhra, who is being groomed to consider India as her personal property and Indians as her personal minions, will ever see things in the context of democracy. For the latest heir of the Gandhi dynasty, the fate of India always has and always will be, at the mercy of their family's personal and private autocracy
